INFO
This is where you can find all the info you need about your upcoming cosmetic tattoo treatment, what to expect before, during and after along with the answers to frequently asked questions. If you have any other questions or would like more information please contact me
MEDICAL/HEALTH
- You must be over 18. There is no upper age limit and I have clients in their 80s who love waking up with brows!
- You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding. It is preferable to wait until 6 months after birth or after you finish breastfeeding although it can be done after 2 months
- You must not be taking blood thinning medication. You must not stop taking your medication without your doctors consent
- You must not be taking, or have taken in the last 12 months, Roaccutane or similar
- If you are on certain other types of medication or have certain conditions it may be necessary to obtain permission from your doctor before your procedure. Please mention if you are on any medication or have recently been when booking and we will discuss this
- You should be in general good health on the day of your procedure, if you are unwell the outcome of you treatment may be compromised and healing may take longer
If you are unwell or if you are on antibiotics you should reschedule your appointment, your body needs to concentrate on healing itself and intentionally creating more healing for it to do (cosmetic tattoo) really isn't helpful
There is a list of things to avoid starting at 6 months prior to your cosmetic tattoo here
SKIN TYPE/LIFESTYLE
Please remember that the following things can affect the look of your cosmetic tattoo:
- If you have extremely oily skin, the hair stroke eyebrow technique will NOT work well for you.
The constant production of oil will cause the hair strokes to heal with a diffused, softer look. Your end result will look more powdery than defined.
- If you have little to no existing hair, your tattoo will appear more two-dimensional than those clients who have more hair naturally
- If you are a frequent smoker, your pigment may fade sooner
- If you are iron deficient or anemic, your pigment may fade sooner and bleeding/bruising may occur during and after the procedure
As this procedure is a cosmetic tattoo and involves piercing of the skin it is important to ensure that you are able to have the procedure done and that you get the results you want
There are MEDICAL/HEATH and SKIN TYPE/LIFESTYLE issues to check
It's really important to follow all the pre treatment advice given to you before your procedure.
The advice is given both for your safety and so that you can achieve the best results possible for your cosmetic tattoo
Full details are sent out to you prior to your treatment but as a guide some of the main points are as follows:
Six months before
No more Botox or filler
Four weeks before
No more Chemical peels (Glycolic, Pumpkin, Alpha Hydroxy, Salicylic Acid)
No more Laser Facials, both ablative and non-ablative, including Fraxel, Co2, and IPL laser treatments
I prefer you to let your brows grow in as much as possible so if possible please don't have them waxed/tweezed for as long as possible
Two weeks before
No more brow tinting (or lash tinting if having lash enhancement/eyeliner)
Remove lash extensions for lash enhancement/eyeliner
No more sunbeds
Stop using Retinol
Two days before
Ensure you are feeling well and are not on antibiotics, contact me as soon as possible to reschedule if this is not the case
Do not consume alcohol or blood thinning painkillers (aspirin, ibuprofen, Niacin) fish oil or primrose oil 48 hours before your procedure to avoid excess bleeding
On the day of your appointment
In addition to the advice for 48 hours before
No caffeine
Please come prepared to be as relaxed as possible for the duration of your cosmetic tattoo.
-
Eat a light snack 20 to 30 minutes before arriving
-
Wear relaxed clothing that you can sit and lie down in for an extended period of time
-
Bring something to listen to (podcast/audiobook) if you like
-
Bring a blanket and/or slippers if you feel the cold as you will be lying down for a while and I cannot provide one for hygiene reasons
At your appointment
In addition to giving you the gorgeous results you want which really complement your natural beauty and express your best self, I want you to enjoy your experience with me and know that I am here for you in the long term.
So I can plan your treatment, I first of all carry out an in-depth consultation with you where we discuss your expectations of the treatment, your lifestyle, medical information and other factors which can affect your treatment such as other cosmetic procedures and products you use to ensure that the procedure is appropriate for you
I will then carry out skin type and colouring assessments so I know that I can offer you the best possible service and give you the best advice regarding short- and long-term care of your treatment site
Whichever area we are working on, I carefully assess your skin and custom blend your perfect colours using only the best quality hypoallergenic vegan pigments and decide the best method to your desired results.
I then design your cosmetic tattoo in pencil and only when we are both 100% happy will your procedure commence.
I always allow up to an hour for the design process
Your Permanent Cosmetics are then applied gently by one of my top of the range machines using sterile single use needles. Hygiene and safety are absolutely paramount to me which is evident when you visit my studio and I will never compromise my exceptionally high standards.
After your procedure is complete you will be given full aftercare advice and instructions to ensure that your new cosmetic tattoo heals in the best possible way and your follow up retouch appointment will be scheduled.
Immediately after your appointment your treatment site will look darker than how it will heal, then over the next few days it may flake or peel. It is crucial that you follow the aftercare advice to ensure your Permanent Cosmetics heal properly. It may look patchy during the healing process, this is totally normal.
You can contact me anytime after any of your procedures as I want you to feel as confident as I do that you will love your healed result

By making an appointment you agree to these terms and conditions
Permanent Cosmetics/Cosmetic Tattooing Policy
You must be over 18, ID may be required
You must have a skin test (with no reaction) at least 48 hours prior to your first appointment, this will either be carried out at the studio (at your free consultation) or posted to you to carry out yourself
Payment for the balance of the full treatment price is due at or before your initial treatment appointment
Your review/retouch appointment is free and is included with all ‘new’ treatment prices
You must attend this appointment to be eligible for colour refresh prices, failure to attend this appointment may result in you being charged the full treatment price at your next appointment
It is not always necessary to carry out any further treatment at this appointment and to do so where it is not necessary carries no benefit and creates unnecessary skin trauma, you will be eligible for colour refresh prices if you attend this appointment even if no further work is required
Review/retouch appointments must be taken within 12 weeks of initial appointment
Colour refresh appointments consist of ONE appointment only
To minimise risk of infection please attend your appointment wearing clothes that have only been worn in a clean environment
This advice comes after a small number of incidences in the industry (not my clients) of infection in clients who attended appointments wearing their work uniform after being in a hospital/care/other environment where contact with bacteria etc is higher than in a general home environment
